Born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Vincent Wyckoff dedicated a career to the U.S. Postal Service. His first book, Beware of Cat: and Other Encounters of a Letter Carrier, celebrates the stories of people on his route. Prior to that, he attended the University of Minnesota and served a tour of duty in the U.S. Army. For a short time he lived on the North Shore of Lake Superior, from which he developed the background for Black Otter Bay, his first work of fiction. Wyckoff and his wife, Sybil, are long- time residents of south Minneapolis. They have three children and six grandchildren.
The tranquility of a remote shoreline in the north woods is shattered when Abby Simon witnesses the cover up to a murder. Her whole world is thrown into turmoil when the murderer discovers her identity. The ensuing chase hurtles from the fog enshrouded north shore of Lake Superior to the glittering lights of downtown Duluth.
"Vincent Wyckoff writes both as a novelist and a naturalist. Black Otter Bay is suspenseful, surprising and satisfying." Lorna Landvik, New York Times best-selling Author
Nightwatchers returns us to the fictional town of Black Otter Bay on the north shore of Lake Superior. It's early fall, and a sinister presence is lurking in the forests behind town. The mystery and intrigue intensify when the legend of Manitou is revealed. But ultimately, it's the chilling immensity of Lake Superior that determines the final outcome.
