About Us

     The Mountain Shop which is located within the historic Scandinavian Chalet has been in operation since the early 1950s.    The Lutsen Mountains Resort is the largest ski area in the Midwest and both the Mountain Shop, and the ski area generate a substantial year-round business.    

     Since 1980, the Mountain Shop and the Lutsen Mountains ski area have operated under the ownership of the same family.  In May of 1997 Bill and Mary Junnila became the owners of the Mountain Shop. 

     The Mountain Shop carries a large selection of brand name outdoor and base layer ski and snowboard apparel, and accessories.  We carry t-shirts, sweatshirts, outdoor apparel, hats, stickers, magnets, patches, glassware and gifts  with our Lutsen Logo.  We are also proud to support our local artists by carrying a small collection by each artist and making it available to you for purchase through our shop.

The Mountain Shops Mission is to be welcoming to all of our visitors and to help them enjoy the area in all seasons.
