Hello! I am David Hahn, AKA: "Grandpa David" and I paint watercolor scenes of the beautiful north shore.
My love for fine art started when I witnessed the great European Masters paintings in the 1949 Berlin Art Museum touring exhibit at the St. Louis Art Institute. I was an overwhelmed 12 year old who loved to draw and suddenly knowing exactly what my life's work was going to be.
I'm now retired from a career that started with two years at Washington University School of Fine
Arts, and then thirty nine years with seven companies as Technical Illistrator, Ad Manager and Art Director for six monthly Agri-Marketing Magazines and then finally a watercolor artist and teacher on the beautiful north shore.
I've sold paintings at Co Ho Café, Johnson Heritage Post and teach and sell and draw pencil portraits for the Art Colony at the Art Fair. I now also illustrate the senior athletes at CCHS as a volunteer They
are hung around the concession stand at the gym and changed out each year. One print goes to the athlete and one to each family. My wife Virginia and I moved to Hovland in 2001 and 2 years ago to Grand Marais.
