Welcome

  “Having visited this Winter Wonderland over the years, my heart was softened by, and grew accustomed to, the gentle wilderness I experienced. When the opportunity to move here presented itself as a morning glory presents itself to the morning sun, I allowed myself to be swept into a new and astoundingly beautiful life  that continues to unfold before me.  

Each hike along a shoreline, every step upon the quieted woodland, each breath taken while admiring a waterfall, each moment that I surrender to these gifts so humbly offered by our Mother Earth… …each of these are moments to be captured in the blink of an eye and preserved with the click of my camera.  

Not being an early-riser, nor being one to chase waterfalls and hurricanes, I savor the moments and images before me while I wonder where I wander. It may be naturally occurring snow-figures. It may be the rushing winter-thaw. It may be the startling beauty within the subtle hues of lichen-covered boulders. Whatever the beauty, I am grateful for the technology tucked in my iPhone, allowing me to capture and share the wonders of these North Shores with those who are not embraced by them.

 It allows me to share, with those who are, a different gaze, a different view, a new perspective – the one that falls upon my eyes.”  In AmyLeo’s Eyes is a celebration of, and a journey into, the healing and glory that resides on these North Shores.
